Goodbye poem for a friend

The road of life is always a surprise,
the terrain is varied, the turns often unexpected
and the places we find ourselves sometimes unimaginable.

Doubt inheres certainty,
knowledge is found in the unknown
and clarity is frustratingly obscure.

But endings herald beginnings,
the mundane can become extraordinary
and the still small voice can be heard amidst the noise.

In each of us,
form meets essence, being meets doing
and the inner world meets the outer world.

Life is the journey,
the journey is about colliding with the opposites,
and our hope of synthesis is grounded in God.

As we part company on this stage of the journey
thankyou for travelling friendship,
and best wishes for what lies ahead.
